Yes – you read that correctly- this Art Deco brooch is set with a tablet of incredible Red Jade. During the height of the 1920s, when the Art Deco design period was at it’s peak, so too was a love of orientalism, with imports of Japanese and Chinese art reaching new heights. Some of the coolest Art Deco pieces we see are set with Asian antiques and Jade, which was a good luck charm of the time. This unusual piece is a perfect meld of east and west. The hand-fabricated platinum mounting is set with Diamonds in rich French tradition; sadly the piece is not signed. The center of the brooch is set with a large rectangular cabochon tablet of orange-red Jadeite jade with top color and translucency- see last pic with light passing through the jade. This would look amazing gracing your lapel, hat, or converted to a pendant. Details: antique brooch hand-crafted in platinum with a 14k white gold pin stem, set with 10ctw red Jadeite tablet (natural Jade, natural color) and .25ctw natural old-cut Diamond accents, circa 1925.
